Customization FAQs
How long does customization take?
- To keep the process moving as quickly as possible, please keep an eye on your email.
- Â
- Most custom apron orders ship approximately 2–3 weeks after payment is received and proofs are approved.
- Â
- If you have a specific date you need your aprons by, please let us know upfront and we’ll confirm if that timeline is possible.
- Â
- Please note: This is an estimate.
Delays in proof approvals or additional design changes can extend the timeline.
Do I order aprons first?
- No — please request a quote first.
- Â
- Orders placed before receiving a quote will be processed as blank aprons and cannot be customized.
Can I have a sample before placing a custom order?

- We do not provide custom samples before purchase.
- Â
- However, we highly recommend ordering one blank apron first.
This helps confirm the apron style, color, and fit before placing a bulk custom order.
There is no minimum purchase requirement for blank aprons, so you can order a single apron before committing to a bulk custom order. - Â
- Please note that customized aprons are non-returnable, so confirming fit beforehand is strongly recommended.
Once an order is placed, we send digital proofs for approval before any production begins.- Â
- You can request unlimited proof revisions until you're happy with the final design.
What is the minimum order for custom aprons?
- Minimum quantities depend on the customization method:
- Â
- DayStar Premium Pocket Embroidery:
Orders must be placed in increments of 40 per style and color (40, 80, 120, etc.) - Â
- DayStar Premium Embroidery: 40 aprons per style and color
- Â
- Standard Embroidery: 50 aprons
- Â
- Screen Printing: 50 aprons
How do I determine the best logo size?
- We highly recommend ordering one blank apron first to confirm the style, color, and fit.
- Â
- Using this blank apron, many customers:
- Print their logo in multiple sizes
- Place logo on desired area
- Measure the approximate height and width - Â
- You can also send a photo of this to help us match your vision as closely as possible.
Can I mix styles or colors in one custom order?
- Yes — as long as the minimum quantity requirements are met for the customization method.
- Â
- • Standard embroidery: 50 aprons total
• Screen printing: 50 aprons total
• DayStar Premium Embroidery: requires 40 per style and color
• DayStar Premium Pocket Embroidery: requires increments of 40 per style and color (40, 80, 120, etc.)
What happens after I submit a quote request?
- After submitting the quote request, our customization team will review your form and reply within 24–48 hours with pricing and any additional questions needed to finalize the quote.
Are custom apron orders returnable?
- No.
- Â
- Because custom aprons are produced specifically for each order, all customized items are non-returnable and non-refundable.
Embroidery FAQs
Can logos be embroidered on apron pockets?
- Yes — with DayStar Premium Embroidery.
- DayStar uses a unique manufacturing process where the fabric panel is embroidered before the pocket is sewn onto the apron. This allows your logo to be placed anywhere on the pocket without sewing it shut or restricting functionality.
- Â
- Benefits include:
- Full pocket placement flexibility
- No stretching or distortion
- The pocket remains fully functional
- The apron is essentially produced around your logo - Â
- Because of this specialized process, pocket embroidery orders must be placed in increments of 40 per style and color.
Why do some logos cost more to embroider?
- Designs that contain solid filled areas require what are called fill stitches.
- Â
- Fill stitches use a dense stitching technique that completely covers an area with thread. This increases the total stitch count and therefore the embroidery cost.
- Â
- Simple logos or text typically require fewer stitches.
- Â
- Note: Base pricing includes 6,000 stitches, anything over is $1.00 per 1,000 stitches per apron.
Why is pocket embroidery limited on some apron brands?
- Most apron brands are embroidered after the apron is fully assembled. Because the pocket is already sewn onto the apron, the embroidery machine must slide a metal frame inside the pocket. This can limit how far down on the pocket the logo can be placed, and in some cases may require the pocket to be sewn shut depending on the design.
- Â
- DayStar aprons are different.
- Â
- DayStar aprons are made and embroidered in the USA, using a special production method where the fabric panel is embroidered before the pocket is sewn onto the apron. This allows the logo to be placed anywhere on the pocket while keeping the pocket fully functional.
Do I need to know my logo size?
- Yes — embroidery pricing is based on stitch count, which depends on your logo size. We recommend testing sizes on a blank apron and providing an approximate width or height in inches so we can quote accurately.

Additional stock colors are $1 per color, per apron.

- Â
- Custom Pantone colors are $1 per color, per apron.
Color Disclaimer:
Colors may appear different on screens due to monitor and browser variations.
If you'd like to see colors in person, we recommend viewing a Pantone Coated Color Guide at a local art supply store.
What if my logo is too dark or too light, will it still show up?
- All screen-printed designs include a white underbase, which helps colors appear bright and vibrant on any apron color.
The white underbase is standard for all prints and is not counted toward the included ink colors.
Does the logo size change the cost?
- No — logo size does not affect pricing. Costs only increase if your design uses more than 4 colors or requires non-stock ink colors.
